I enjoyed the Chicago references, but the writing style/characters weren't all that great.
Kind of disappointed. These seemed more like a series of profile pieces rather than fiction.
Difficult to follow at times (ok, many times), but amazing in the inventiveness of the writing, both structure and narrative voice. Hard to believe this was written almost 100 years ago.
Fun book – I really enjoyed Inherent Vice. Will have to try to tackle some of Pynchon's other, tougher books that I haven't read yet.
