This is a great first effort from a promising young author. The Bone Forest is the story of Aria and Alessa Hale, two teenage sisters. Aria has disappeared, whether kidnapped, murdered or runaway is not known. Alessa is left to pick up the pieces.
The sad dynamics of the Hale family are laid out along side the mystery of Aria's disappearance. Each chapter is like turning over a rock to see what lives underneath.
The last hundred or so pages were difficult to read in the best ways. I was alternately enraged and saddened. Some scenes lingered in my mind like the most vivid nightmares.
This is a story well worth your time and one that I highly recommend.
This was a fun read. A whodunit of sorts with a cast of interesting, quirky characters, human and alien. Definitely worth a read!
This was an excellent read.
The novel addresses questions of consciousness in a world where we are not the only self-aware beings. Some artificial and others evolving in the ocean unseen.
This was a great book. The kind of book that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It is the kind of book that you don't ever want to put down. It is also the kind of book that has you in fear of turning the page because you are afraid of what might happen next. It is a book inhabited by wonderful characters, horrifying characters and one Very Good Dog.
The world of Wayward and Wanderers is a sort of mirror image of our own world and shows us just how insane our world has become.
This was a great story. Part caper tale complete with double crosses and triple crosses - part space opera with battles I'd love to see on the big screen.
