I've been wanting to try out this author duo for the longest but didn't want to jump into another big series (but of course, this is series as well SURPRISE!) and this sounded like the perfect chance.
I enjoyed this book, mainly because of the plot twists. I loved that I couldn't really tell when one was about to happen which lead to a lot of π²π²π² moments.
The pace good as well. Nearing the end of part one so much has happened in one particular setting that it was kind of like overwhelming but in a good way.
I really appreciate the wide variety of characters and all their different motives and journeys throughout the story. One con about that though is that I couldn't for the life of me keep people straight especially when more people were introduced near the last act BUT I was just listening to the audiobook and didn't have the names in front of my eyes so it's not a really a slight on the story ... perhaps (they're just an a lot of people which IS realistic for the situation sooo idk π )
Overall, I'm glad I finally got to give this author a chance and as someone who is notoriously bad at following up with series, I leaning towards yeah more than meh when it comes to picking up book 2 so win!
PACK PACK PACK!! πππΎπ
lemme go ahead and add this to my favorites list real quick.
The way this book had me giggling one moment and absolutely devastated the next. Wolfsong is PEAK found family, hardship, snark, and love. So glad I finally decided to randomly read it and can't wait for the next one.
Vera Valentine, I hope you never stop writing!π I always have such a fun time with her books and this one was no exception.
Love these sugar free lovebirds β€οΈπ
I will now officially try anything Lorissa Rinehart puts out. Her fantastic writing does Dickey's awe-inspiring journey so much justice. Very glad to have read this.
Honestly so many of my boxes were checked by the end of this story I was like wait, did I write this?! lol but no really, the author has a fantastic and well written story here.
I love the sizzling build up to the 3 characters coming together and was especially happy with the M/M relationship at the end as well. I'll definitely be reading again.
your honor, this was tender af.
I don't think I've insta-loved two mcs like this in a long time.
THE GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE HAS A DEG KINK!!
This was fun (Vera Valentine is involved so ofc I had fun lol). It's a bit of a smutty mystery since I spent a good amount of time trying to clue who was what food
This might be my favorite Legends book. It's definitely on the top shelf of my fave Star Wars books in general! β¨
Along with being rewarding for Prequel and OT fans, The Force Unleashed II offers a taste of every thing I personally love about Star Wars: space battles, galaxy hopping, twists on twists, star crossed lovers, droids having existential crises, and more.
Also, it is soo delightfully star studded. I was Leo-Pointing all over the place
As a Dark Side fan, Inquisitor: Rise of The Red Blade is everything I could have hoped for. No character redemption. Just pure dark side and heartbreak because if there's one thing to know about Star Wars, it's that it's always tragic
Another satisfying entry to the Katee Robert Cinematic Universe. Hope there will be a little edit for a handful of misplaced words but otherwise, EXACTLY what I wanted lol.
Smutathon is off to a very good start
This is absolutely wild! So many twists (maybe one too many?? I was literally drawing a chart) but really I couldn't get enough. Very happy this is my first Sally Hepworth.
Scourge Between Stars is quick to jump into the action and sprints right to the end. The tension was great especially after the 3rd act turn and also really loved how delightfully casually queer it is!
easter bunny mythology is my spicy books? more likely and intriguing than you think. 10/10 dalia if you ever write more of lily and jack, i'm here for it
βAgakor makes a sound that might be laughter, might be a huff. Either way, he sounds both exasperated and amused at the same time.' aka me reading this book, in the most affectionate way.
Agakor and Iolanthe are very sweet together and very awkward lol. They could both desperately use some self esteem boosts but really that's the main reason they came together so well. The constant reassurance can be tiring but sweet and realistic no less.
One con - The pacing is kinda weird on this one. Everything's great to like exactly the 50% mark then a new plot majorly slows the story down till 80% where it picks up a break neck pace then evens out again more or less. I don't know, just felt weird to me. Still a very enjoyable story!
An absolutely stunning debut from Natasha Siegel. I couldn't put it down! Siegel's prose is delightful and often made me βooooh that's goodβ out-loud. I enjoyed the character journeys of not only Phillip and Richard but Isabella as well. Her relationship with Phillip was one of my favorite parts of the book, with how much they loved and supported each other in their own ways. I probably have their every interactions dogearred tbh.
I will definitely read anything else Siegel publishes, no hesitation!
The romance was okay, if wearying at time but murder mystery party with gods!? chefs kiss
Viv's friends really love her and don't want her to give up on her dreams ya love to see it
A wonderful fantasy with many touches of reality
My first of Arden Powell's works and definitely not my last! There is so much tension and tenderness worked into this wonderful novella. It's very inspiring. The themes of betrayal and second chances really stand out for me and how they apply to both of the main characters in similar and different ways. I would jump at the chance to read more of Thomas and Winter's story and how they're going to change each other and their world as they know it.
