The story truly shines as a slightly open window revealing a culture few Americans know anything about.
But, knowing the story is fictional, an abstraction of what-could-be-real or an amalgamation of things that probably happened independently, I found investing emotion difficult.
While well written, the plot lines were fairly predictable and I wouldn't describe myself as overly clever.
A well written, interesting, and amazing story
From beginning to end, this story is masterfully crafted. I've been loathe to read much of this newer era of novelists, preferring to find past gems somehow overlooked. This is truly a classic for the future.
A must read for everyone
A very well written, engaging, and interesting story about a post human robot apocalypse. I wasn't excited about the premise before reading, but a few chapters in had me hooked.
Fantastic Mind Candy
I don't recall how I first encountered Westerson's first Crispin Guest novel, but it was very soon after it was placed on Amazon. Since then I have eagerly awaited each new release, and devoured immediately. This story is similar to the other's yet interestingly different. If you enjoyed her previous novels, this one is equally entertaining.
Quite a departure, but pleasantly so!
I don't have the best of memories for specifics, but the story structure and writing seem different from Powers' usual.
Such a wonderful idea for a story, and told expertly. My only knowledge of the Brontes was from a Monty Python gag about the semaphore version of Wuthering Heights, but now I'm interested in reading their works.
