See allJohnny's summer plans change when his mother got a job at New York. He had to look after his cousin Remember “Mem” Dippy who has strange attitudes. The novel reveals how johnny spent strange and funny summer with his cousin with autism.
the novel is light hearted and wonderful a kind of Tom Sayer story. really loved how the author portrayed mem.
The Good Lord Bird is a best satirical and historical fiction from a voice of coloured salve. looking forward to read author's other books.
Every Canadians, especially those who are willing to learn about indigenous peoples' struggle in residential schools, should read this. It was well written with stories of 5 (and more) aboriginal people and interconnected in a way or another. I loved how they all are connected and each of them had different characteristics. Yet they supported each other during residential school and outside.
Really good story line and it keeps you in suspense till the end. honestly, I didn't expect that much from a free kindle book. It sometimes get confused and fell like too many characters involving in one event and they are unrealistic in the way they cope with what happens in story.
nevertheless, I enjoyed reading it and looking forward to read other books in series.
