I gave this book a second chance and it was TOTALLY worth it. I get why people say it gives Caraval vibes, but it's not like Caraval at all. Im deciding wether to give this 3.5 or 4 because it was a unique idea, some good plot twists, and it was definitely magical. BUT the main character can be so stupid and reckless sometimes, I just wanted to slap her to make her realize that what she was doing it's not logic. LIKE AT ALL THE TIME she came up with the WORST decisions ever. I DID enjoyed it because I was so invested in the back story of the hotel, and how the magicians have the power, and also the plot twists were good.
But Jani was totally a disappointment.
OMFG this is it I'm OBSESSED like ACTUALLY this was a totally different setting but same way: AMAZING plot twists!!! hmmmmm KILL ME NOW, BUT I LOOVEEE DAVID. Everything was perfect in ANY way TOTALLY A 5/5
4.5*
THE CHARACTERS UGHHH THEY FEEL SO REAL
I CANT BELIEVE SHE AFTER ALL TRICKED ME AT THE END
Ok... I'm still processing... everything. Well here are my thoughts:
First WOW so much plot twists in this like just WOW
Second, well I'm not trying to be spoilery BUT like the mystery solving things was intense... LIKE MY HEART WAS ON A COMA. Made me cry for sure.
As always Love love Pip... and Ravi
I started this with no expectations, without even reading the back cover, and it gave me more that I wanted. SO MUCH MORE. I didn't expect this to be as good as it was. I was scare at the beginning because I told myself that it was probably going to be hard to read, since is fantasy, and fantasy most of the times for me is hard to get into. But NO I WAS wrong, soooo easy to get into. I CANT wait to read book 2. This book is now on my TOP 5 books of 2022 no joke.
4.5 UFF a long time i don't read such a good serial killer book. After reading the a good girls guide to murder series, I though I would never experience what I experienced reading that series. Like NEVER ever again. BUTTTTTT THIS BROUGHT ME BACK!!
I felt as if I was watching a criminal minds episode, but make it teenagers... and I little bit more graphic. I love to experience emotions while reading a book, and this one gave it all. I was feeling anxious, mostly scared, SAD, intrigued, and confused most of the time. And I was ALSO trying to figure out all the clues and everything that was going on. I read this in a day which I guess says it all. The way that I was genuinely scared of some of the people is unbelievable. Everytime Emma would interview Simon, I had an uneasy feeling in my stomach. I didn't wanted her, or anyone near him. The author did a really good job making him psychologically, mentally unstable, (for a teenager). I remembered one page that LITERALLY made my heart stop, just one sentence. I felt as if I WAS there. Overall I just won't be able to sleep, not because I'm scared (which part of me is still traumatized), but because how GOOD this was.
ALSO I cried
OK WOW!!! I read this a while ago now but I don't seem to forgot that plot twist AND I know I'll never will!! So now I like (kinda) David idk BUT OVER ALL was AMAZING
4.5⭐️ Wow that ending was one that actually attached more and MORE to this series it was good and bad(in a good way)? After finishing this book I totally picked up the second one lol. Ummmmmm I totally like Hunter I think he is now my favorite character, also Stevie's pls dump David like girl HE.IS.NOT.WORTH.IT
THIS BOOK!!! It got me out of my reading slump is addicting and funny. I totally see myself in the characters of this book, I identify mostly with Stevie but also Nate. I never have read a book we're I could identify myself sooo much totally 5/5 on that. I felt this was the kind of book I needed to get out of my reading slump, YA, Mystery with a little bit of romance and plot twists chef kiss I can't wait to read the second book!! The ending got me waiting for moreeeee!! Totally a must read.
This book was ADDICTING. I can't explain how addicting it was, I stayed awake till 12 to finish it. The world is easy to understand in my opinion, I've read a couple of dystopian and this, I have to admit, IS THE BEST ONE so far. I liked the dynamic of her being a villain and Adrian a superhero, It was cool because all the tension she had with her being a “villain” and Adrian not knowing anything about it. Which for me was heartbreaking because he doesn't now and he believes her. Well after all I knew that Ace was not dead. But it's interesting that she never said ANYTHING about Ace being dead, which I DIDNT notice what?? After all I give the book a 4 just because it was addicting. Because for me was a solid 3.5. But yeah I haven't read any addicting books in a while.
LOVEEEEE ADRIANN
