Reading the first few pages had me contemplating to set the book aside and finish it another time. But, boy, am I glad that I gave Blood Debts another chance. It promised justice and more than just delivered in a breathtaking way. I'm glad the story's not over yet and am excited for the sequel.
I'm reluctant about ever piking up a TikTok recommendation again, because what the hell was this? I initially liked Fox (the name???) a little more than Brendan since he didn't grunt as often as the latter did. The epilogue was the only thing halfway decent about this book. Hannah remains the “supporting actress” and plays the role of a therapist perfectly. There's a huge lack of diversity within the book (who's surprised?) in addition to lackluster smut.

This was the best book out of the Brown Sisters Triology!!!! The representation is incredibly well done and the characters leave you no choice but to love them.
I'm incredibly glad I've stumbled upon “Beach Read” because all it would've taken me was one more mediocre book to get me to stop reading for the foreseeable future. But surprisingly, TikTok didn't let me down this time. Emily Henry has a way with words that leaves you no choice but to fall in love with her writing. She has created characters that are flawed but still so likable and authentic. The book certainly lives up to its hype. And I have a hard time imagining anyone not enjoying it. The only thing causing slight disappointment is that the enemies-to-lovers trope wasn't really executed despite the initial hints.
“Good Girl, Bad Blood” by Holly Jackson delivers a gut-wrenching ending that left me reeling and heartbroken. The last few chapters were an emotional rollercoaster, and finding words to describe the impact feels nearly impossible. The unexpected turn at the conclusion took me by surprise, defying all initial expectations.
The character development, especially regarding Stanley Forbes, was masterfully executed. Jackson skillfully made me feel for his character within just a few pages, transforming my indifference into genuine emotional investment. His death, difficult to read, left a lasting impact, and I secretly hoped for a miraculous survival that never came to pass.
The evolution of Holly Jackson's writing in this sequel impressed me, and the anticipation for the third book is palpable. While the ending was a bitter pill to swallow, it speaks to the author's ability to evoke deep emotions. A break from the intense feelings might be necessary, but the prospect of what the next installment holds is equally compelling.
