Tom Felton delivers a thoroughly human reflection on his life before, during, and after his role as Draco Malloy in the Harry Potter film series. His writing is open and honest with a blend of all the ups and downs he has experienced. An engaging, quick read that feels like letters from a friend. He seems like a truly lovely human.
I loved this book so so much. A dark, comedic, avant-garde story about motherhood; both raw & real and bizarrely surreal; as beautiful as it was gruesome; a strange, twisted love letter to mothers, primarily, but also all women and our wildness, rage, complexity, and strength.
(TW: Heads up for a few particularly disturbing scenes involving animal deaths. They make sense in context & didn’t affect how much I enjoyed this, but still was a bit of a shock)
Finished my second Hiromi Kawakami book & she has absolutely made my favorite authors list!
People From My Neighborhood — thirty-six super short fairy tales/stories about all the people in the narrator’s fictional neighborhood — strange, fantastical, completely open to interpretation. Non-linear plot, and the stories continually revisit the residents at different times in their lives. A really fun & unique read.
