NOTES Plot/Trope subversions were really unique, enjoyable all around, characters were charactering and the reveals that were dripfed throughout the first two books came to a head here.

Honestly a lot more enjoyable than the previous entry, which is understandable since the first book was basically all setup. The character voice is so unique and individual that it makes each pov switch a joy. I enjoyed but didn't love the plotting or action scenes personally. Glokta and Jezal made me want to keep reading!

NOTES Can't believe I read spicy romance books now - they are so much easier to read and serve as a nice breather in between larger series. Icebreaker was popcorn reading at it's finest, really enjoyed the relationship of the MCs and it went by super fast. ty tiktok

Forgot to include this back when I read it at the tail end of Japan trip - very cool how this is a glimpse into the ‘future' of the cosmere, lots of cool references again, nice and contained story and was overall enjoyable!
WONDERFUL! WHIMSICAL! W-AMAZING!!!
What a fun and enjoyable little story this was!!! Self contained but full of cosmere references, the light tone was so easy to read too. Forgot how great Sanderson is!!!
9.25/10 (?)

DONE VOL 14. VERY NICE. TBH NOT SO INTERESTED IN THE PERUGIUS ARC BUT ERIS IS COMING BACK PLUS TP4 WAS KINDA POGGERS SO IT STILL REMAINS 4 STARS FOR ME. HOPING I CAN FINISH THE ENTIRE SERIES ASAP SO I CAN GO BACK TO ACTUAL GOOD BOOKS BUT NO PROBLEM
FINISHED SEASON 2 OF ANIME AND HAD TO MOVE TO LNs. SO EASY TO READ WILL PROBABLY BLAZE THROUGH ALL OF THEM BEFORE READING SOMETHING ELSE.
SLICE OF LIFE ARC ALWAYS GOOD

SUPER INTERESTING MAGIC SYSTEM AND LEARNED A LOT ABOUT ETYMOLOGY, beginning part where nothing happened was a lot better than the ending where a lot happened

NOTES Mid ass climax - last 10% of the book basically ruined a 6.5+ for me
Slowest 250 pages I've ever read... idk if it was just me but didn't really care or connect with the characters. Still finished because I have a feeling I'm going to really like the rest of Sun Eater

NOTES Pretty great ending to a great series, the scope is expanded even more than last book, and this time the timeframe of the series stretches across an entire lifespan which I loved, I thought it was so unique. The story is less about a single Kaul and more focused on the family and it's legacy

NOTES Really fun asian-inspired story with a unique low magic system, loved the big clan dynamics. Reminds me of 1980s Hong Kong / Mafia movies

NOTES Amazing book, wonderful ATLA magic system with just mind blowing character work. Makes me feel what it is like to be a mother as a 24 year old man. There are some negatives for me, namely the very beginning and the very end, but the emotional Impact and characters outweigh all the negatives in this story and then some...

NOTES Easily my favorite series ever, everything about this series I love and hold dear to my heart. The world is the most expansive and immersive world I have ever been a part of. We get to slowly explore and learn about every single aspect of the world—from the towns to the continents, everything is teeming with love and detail. The characters, even one-off side characters, are each so well-developed and have their own unique ambitions and outlook on the world. The magic system, while you would expect it to be overdone and cliche, manages to be so much fun and, since the system is tailored to the individual character, allows for infinite possibilities. Most importantly, the emotional impact that this story has and how it manages to make me feel, even for the silliest things, is top top top tier. I don't have enough good things to say about this series. There is truly something for everyone here. The only negative (which is actually a positive for me) is that it is absolutely ginormous. There are ~11,970,740 words in this series and more than than LOTR, Harry Potter, and ASOIAF combined and counting. I took a break at Vol 8 to find time to read other series that were put on hold for too long. The series recently wrapped up Vol 9 and is working on Vol 10. If you are looking for a story to be immersed in, this is the one right here.
pirateaba recently revised many parts of Volume 1 so there is no better time than right now to start reading TWI!!!
Finished on me birthday! Pretty good read with some interesting philosophy on what it would be like if we WERENT ALONE! tough beginning to get through but really got into it - will need a palate cleanser before continuing but I think this could be an amazing series from what I am hearing
AWESOME but personally not as good as golden son or red rising IN MY OPINION
RR = 10/10
GS = 12/10
MS = 8.5/10
Read most of this on the plane to Japan. Pretty enjoyable and unique way to tell the story...the politics and inventions especially were cool and I hear there's more of that in the future books so I am excited to visit them someday.

NOTES Cute romance from Sanderson, I thought it was enjoyable and I liked their relationship but would probably look elsewhere for Romantasy, still high rating because the book was good!
