I found this to be a really enjoyable novel with great characters and an interesting Pulp Fiction-esque non-linear story.
I really enjoyed Good Omens, though I'd already seen the TV adaption. It's surprising just how faithful the adaption was, large parts of both are identical word for word, but I understood why some sections of the book were cut out for the TV series (other four riders and some other bits) and didn't find that their inclusion improved the experience at all.
I love the story, and I really enjoy Pratchett's unique humour in particular, but the amazing adaptation with an absolutely stellar and memorable cast ruined the reading experience a bit for me.
The series is over, maybe the best one I've ever read, and its final entry a fantastic finale. While the final third of the series isn't my favourite of the lot, there isn't a single book in the Expanse universe that I don't love, and the nostalgic points in this finale leave me wanting to start the whole bloody series over again.
Tim Marshall is easily my favourite non-fiction writer, his books are succinct, fascinating and surprisingly witty given their often dry subject matters.
This book, the third I've read of his, is no exception, and delivers an absolute ton of history on many of the major flags of countries, peoples and ideals in an incredibly engaging and informative manner.
Once again, he's knocked it out of the park and I'm only more excited to make my way through the rest of his works.
