Just an enjoyable adventure to follow along with. Easy read. Made me think a little. But, mostly, gave me an urge to hike in the mountains that won't go away until I do.

Such a different place in time. I can't fully imagine what it must have been like to bar hop around new york in wartime america, but Hippos at least lets me try.

Flat compared the previous Murakami books I've read. Did not invoke much feeling or wonderment. Often felt it was stalling itself – would have been a good short-story .
