I loved the ending! Color me impressed.
-SPOILER ALERT-
At first I was totally shocked when the searchers revealed the last stage of the plan, seeing as how no human would want that to happen. But it was beautiful how the pack saw that quite differently and wasn't even whiny about it. And the author managed to convey the pack feelings really well on this point so that the readers could really understand how the pack felt. Afterwards I also realized how this enabled the pack to find happiness despite having lost so many of their friends and family. Brilliant.
I understand why they say that this fourth book is what makes the Wheel of Time such a special series
I'm out. Had already given up on Cassie, will now quit Dory as well. There is no progress in these books. Just the same old issues and loads of useless battles.
Easy to read, but very fragmented due to tons of time jumps (most of which felt unnecessary) and the ending felt very unsatisfying.
Not my favourite book by BrandoSando. I really like Lift, but the story itself was a bit meh.
I found the part in Kholinar boring. Other than that: another brilliant book bij BrandoSando
A bit too many repetitions, but very good book nonetheless. I was actually surprised at how the ending was better than I dared hope for, having read a lot of Terry's work :)
I'm really intrigued by the world that has been created here. But the actual story and characters are just too unbelievable and frustrating for me to finish this book. So many things don't make any sense to me, here some examples:
Why does Cassia insist on destroying all her valuable artefacts? Can she really not hide or trade them?
Why must she use Xander to get to Ky? I get that she wants love instead of her best friend, but then just let him go easy instead of using him achieve the opposite of his goals, very mean since he is just lovely.
And if Ky is so damn smart then how did he end up in this dangerous situation? Why did he send himself to a place he knew he would likely never get out of alive and crush his remaining family's hopes and dreams in the meantime?
Please let me know if logical answers to these questions are given later, then I might just pick up the books again ;)
