Author Bio

Dare Wright was a Canadian–American children's author, model, and photographer best known for her children's book, *The Lonely Doll*. Using photographs of her own childhood doll Edith, Wright created ten volumes of Edith's adventures with the Bears between 1957 and 1981. Her *Look At A...* series turns her camera toward the life cycles of various animals from birth to adulthood. Her other books, *Make Me Real, Take Me Home, The Little One,* and *Lona* also feature the wistful adventures of childhood toys rendered in evocative black-and-white photography.
