This book was lovely and genuinely kept me excited and anticipating the next chapter despite being obvious where the plot was headed. I didn’t have a moment where I didn’t enjoy the book, it felt like a nice book to cozy up with or give a quick read in between tasks.
I read it once when I was about 11 years old, but I had no recollection of what happened throughout this book. Rereading it felt like my younger self was with me the whole time. I also just loved Leo’s character, he was adorable I just wanted to pinch his cheeks :)
There were very few issues that I had with this book. The main character wasn’t too smart that it was unrealistic for an 11 year old, but she also wasn’t dumb where her actions made you upset. She made a few decisions that upset me but she is 11 after all so I tried not to think to hard about it and just enjoy myself.
The ending is my main issue. When Angelina, Leo, and Amanda realize that her pushing the apple tree out of the window is what caused the curse to act up. I felt like it took away from all the hard work they did the day before, and lengthens the book for no reason. Other than that it was a lovely and easy read, not over repeating itself too much despite it’s premise. 🧚
