I feel as if this story lost its spark somewhere around the middle. It was SO enjoyable in the beginning—so much so that I thought I'd found a new favourite.

Initially, the focus was on Isaac and Giselle's blossoming relationship, and as a reader seeing the progress in their relationship and their interactions were what kept me hooked. But later on, the plot started to revolve around catching this one rampant vampire in the woods who's been killing civilians, and the main focus went away from our two core characters. The newer episodes feel a bit substance-less; after the conflict with Giselle and her abusive asshole of a husband has been resolved nothing seems to be progressing at a satisfactory pace anymore. Basically, the story's meandering.

I still think that the first half makes this entire story worth the read, and it's not as if these newer episodes are bad, but they are disappointing and making me gradually lose interest. But with that said, I'm still enjoying myself enough to continue the future episodes.
