Unfortunately another book that started out strong but lagged then fizzled out for me. I do appreciate the way this author writes fully fleshed out Christian characters and not caricatures though!
This was a very atmospheric story with a rich setting that begins on the Cornwall coast during a storm that wrecks a boat. The rescued castaway is a young man who evidently has plenty of secrets, which lead to surprising developments when his nemesis shows up in the area. Then it's a puzzle if they can keep Alex from being arrested on the man's allegations before they can prove he's the real problem.
The story also follows Laura's business as a collector of the personal items of shipwrecked folks who died, where she keeps items for a period of time and attempts to let the relatives know about their losses. That was an interesting facet to read.
I've always enjoyed stories about Cornwall and the wreckers on the coast, and it was fun to recognize areas I'd read about before, such as Tregeagle.
