A Discovery of Witches

I was reluctant to start this book because I had just finished another big book that left me less than happy. I'm glad I hung in there though as Ms. Harkness's book was quite satisfying. There were a couple of things that kept me from enjoying the book completely though.

Sometimes the characters got so involved in what the wine smelled like that felt a bit like “oeninism” - pun intended - In reading the back flap I found that Ms. Harkness also writes a popular blog about wine - so I cut her some slack.

Overall a rollicking good read although it does take some time to discover that this book tastes less like rocks and more like honey.
