A Distant Eden

A raging solar storm permanently knocks out the grid. Three hundred million people are without power, water, fuel or food. The government ceases to function. Ninety-seven percent of the population will die within one year. The remaining three percent will all have something in common. They will have preparations in place and the ability to hold onto them.
