My Review:
A Draw of Kings is book 3 in The Staff and The Sword series and I knew this when I requested the book, because normally you can pick up in the middle of a series and still thoroughly enjoy the book, but I really haven't understood A Draw of Kings. It's not because it is badly written, its because I am picking up in the middle of the series. Because of this, I am postponing reading A Draw of Kings until I get the first 2 books in the series, so that I won't know what happens when I do read it. But, from what I have read, A Draw of Kings is a pretty good book and I look forward to getting the series.
However, if you are looking at this book as a gift, I will say that this book contains quite a bit of abuse in the first few chapters that I have read, as well as one of the main characters having to kill an enemy for protection. So, if this bothers some, then I would not recommend it.
