A Grim and Sunken Vow

4.5 Stars. Ashley Shuttleworth has created the most intricately woven world I have ever seen before. Every single aspect of this world needed to be thoughtfully planned out and designed with specific rules in mind, and I am really impressed with their skill to do so. While it did not matter as much in the second book, I will have to go back to a minor critique I had of the first book; I wish there was a guide describing what species does what and who outranks whom, especially for the gods, titans, deities, and other immortals. I understood everything in the second book, but like I said with the first, this one often leaves me a bit confused because the rules of the Immortal Realm are not clearly defined. I am excited with the direction the story is headed in, and if the last part of the epilogue and the cover art for book four are any indications, I'm in for a wild ride. It sucks that the next book isn't coming out for nine more months, but once the series is completed I will dive back in and read them all. Until then, I bid farewell to the world of the Eight Great Courts.
