Oh my God! This book was so painful to read. I loved Adam so much, throughout the story. The way he interacted with everyone despite being ADHD. His mom was so nice. And every time he ferociously protected Julian.
Halfway through the story got so intense and painful that I couldn't stop reading. Who needs sleep anyway?

There's a lot of triggering stuff in this. I felt very claustrophobic at one point so you know the writing was really good. Really liked this one.

My English teacher told my class to pick a book that includes neurodiversity to read. As a person that usually reads high fantasy, I wasn't too excited. Realistic fiction is one of my least-read and least-enjoyed categories. In 300 pages, the author of this book managed to change that. It is splendidly written and toyed with my emotions every page. I really enjoyed this book and I think anyone could take something out of it.

Un livre magnifique. Très dur à certains moments, extrêmement difficile ou touchant à d'autres, mais vraiment magnifique. Des personnages extrêmement attachants que l'on découvre au fur et à mesure et auxquels on s'attache très fort, quelque chose que je n'avais pas vraiment eu en YA depuis [b:Wonder 11387515 Wonder R.J. Adam begitu gembira bisa bertemu lagi dengan Julian saat bekerja sebagai pendamping psikolog sekolah. Meskipun duduk diam bukanlah hal yang mudah bagi ADHD-nya, tapi Adam tidak bisa mengeluh. Awalnya, Julian adalah anak yang seperti yang Adam kenal lima tahun yang lalu. Julian masih anak yang ramah, masih suka menulis cerita, dan menyukai buku cerita bergambar untuk anak-anak. Namun kemudian, Adam menyadari Julian menyembunyikan sesuatu.
Buku ini cukup membuatku merasa sedih & simpati pada Julian. Semenjak orang tuanya meninggal, Julian tinggal Bersama Pamannya Russel, yg ternyata suka melakukan kekerasan terhadap Julian. Ide ceritanya cukup bagus, walau kekerasannya tidak secara detil, mungkin Karena buku ini untuk YA. Plotnya juga sangat pas, dari kita para pembaca mulai bertanya apa yg sebenarnya terjadi hingga terungkap apa yg menimpa Julian.
Aku agak kurang sreg dengan ending Russel, padahal jika endingnya Russel akhirnya tertangkap bersama bukti, beserta sedikit keseruannya untuk klimaks buku ini layak mendapat 5 bintang.

I cried through the entire last half of this book as I read it nonstop until 2:34 in the morning. And after reading the last sentences through tear flooded eyes I cried myself to sleep. This book is heart wrenching, heartrending, heartless at some chapters but at the same time full of heart in others. Don't read this book if you don't want to cry out of pure sadness and rage. Read this book if you want to see just a glimpse of how the foster system needs help and needs good people to foster. Julian will stay with me forever.
