Cozy chick lit - she leaves her cheating husband and signs up to be a caretaker for a seaside cottage and tearoom that has historically hosted many town events. And the nephew of the owner wants to sell it to developers. Mostly chicklit, with a nice dose of romcom.
I really enjoyed this. I went in expecting a goofy, hallmarky romcom but got a sweet, heartwarming story about a woman rediscovering joy. I liked the side characters, I loved the MC and the love interest was sweet and believable. If Hallmark took the “Stardew Valley” game and swapped a farm for a cafe, this is what you'd get.
3.5 . i thought this was a christmas romance? when it's hardly either?? i loved the setting & characters, just thought it was gonna be.... better?
