A sweet reasonable MC who had absolutely every right to enforce that boundary and a self-involved, self destructive MC who totally should have apologized for that incident.
This was a 4 star book for me until about 90% in because while this book was a perfect example of how to use a third act breakup in a way that makes absolute sense given the buildup, I absolutely could not get over how the one in the right had to be the one to make amends. Heinous, heinous behavior.
Sometimes, love should be conditional. And unfortunately this is one of those books where ‘love conquers all'
I loved everything about it up until that point. The MCs are young and imperfect- and they act it. Nonetheless, one made a totally warranted choice to put himself first and I really wish the payoff for that had been better.
