The “last” book in an unfinished series sets things up. It was a fun culmination to a hilarious series.
It was so gorgeous revisiting a childhood favorite and this did not disappoint. I genuinely cried all over again
Still funny, but the series slowly is starting to lose its magic.
The Shakespeare quotes shouted out randomly (because it makes you look mysterious) are really funny. There are some real gems in the chapter numbering and there is a fun reference to one of the mysteries in the Wheel of Time series.
The story is slowly getting a bit darker and I think Sanderson slipped in shades of grey regarding the morality of the characters. This is cleverly done.
But the constant addressing of the reader has its limits. Re-using jokes starts to be annoying.
As mentioned, some of the jokes are clever and funny, but dosing the humour is an art.
Alcatraz Versus the Shattered Lens is the fourth (and currently last) installment of the Alcatraz Smedry series. Brandon Sanderson ramped up the tension while still maintaining the lighthearted, humorous tone of the series. The reoccurring use of the word “stoopid” did get a little bit irritating at times, but each previous book in the series had some element or other designed for that purpose. Definitely hope that Brandon is able to write and publish the fifth book.

Dengan konyol dan gagah berani, Alcatraz, si bocah penyandang Bakat Merusak, datang untuk menyelamatkan Tuki Tuki. Ditemani Bastille yang sarkastis, Kaz yang sering tersesat, dan Aydee yang sangat suka teddy bear, Alcatraz berhadapan dengan ratusan prajurit Pustakawan dan robot-robot raksasa mereka.
Buk uke-4 ini adalah buku yang paling konyol & absurd sejauh ini, aku sdh tertawa bahkan di bab2 awal. Om Sanderson sangat bahagia jika tahu dia berhasil memperdaya pembacanya.
Sdh mulai ada sedikit titik terang kenapa ayah & ibu Alcatraz berpisah, mereka mempunyai keinginan yg berbeda jelas, namun keinginan apakah itu? Mulai sedikit terjawab di buku ke-4 ini. Terislah membaca seri ini sangat menyenangkan hahaha
