I enjoyed this well enough until the end. What the actual hell? That's where you're going to leave it?!
Seriously? Finish your book. I cannot in good faith give a book that ends the way this one did more than 2 stars. I felt like I wasted my time reading this.
Ashley Flowers absolutely nailed it in her debut novel.
I'm a huge Crime Junkies fan so I was ecstatic when I was able to snag an e-arc of this book. Huge thank you to the publisher and to Netgalley.
This book is devastating, twisty, dark... It's everything I hoped it would be. The pacing is spot on. The twists and turns come at the right time.
This is a dual timeline book about a young girl's murder and her childhood friend's quest to uncover the truth.
It definitely gave me vibes of a certain famous true crime case – if it happened in an alternate reality and someone knew the true story of what happened haha.
THAT ENDING.
Highly recommend.
I was going to give this 5 stars until the end. THE POINT IS TO SOLVE THE MYSTERY. WHAT HAPPENED TO MARGOT AT THE END??????
3.5 ??? i loved it up until the end. i felt like we could've used 20 more pages to wrap it up!
I liked the book. But the similarities to the Ramsey case threw me off. I started to think it was based on it. The ending left a lot to be desired as well. The crime wasn't fully described until the epilouge also. I think it's a good boo, and I love Ashley. This boo, to m, was average at best.
WHAT THE HECK- I was hooked from page 1 and I loved every minute of this book I know people are mad at the end but I LOVED IT! That doesnt take away the fact this book was SO good! This definitely caught me by suprise and this could be a new favorite of the year! I will definitely read more from this author because if this is only her debut she will have a lot more amazing books
I enjoyed this well enough until the end. What the actual hell? That's where you're going to leave it?!
The twists were kind of predictable but overall the story keeps you interested nonetheless. Check triggers before diving in if you are concerned.
“All Good People Here” by Ashley Flowers is an exceptional mystery thriller that reignited my passion for reading! From the first page, I was hooked by the investigative vibes that pulled me into the story.
Flowers does a fantastic job of creating multi-dimensional characters, making me think deeply about the suspects in the mystery. Each character has their own secrets, and I constantly found myself questioning who could be trusted. This complexity kept me on my toes as the plot unfolded.
The dual timelines in the story are a brilliant touch, intertwining the past and present. This structure adds depth to the narrative, revealing important connections that enhanced my understanding of the characters. I loved how each timeline brought new insights and kept me engaged.
Overall, “All Good People Here” is a gripping read that combines suspense with rich character development. It kept me guessing until the very end. If you're looking for a captivating mystery that will keep you on the edge of your seat, I highly recommend this book! It's a thrilling journey that showcases the power of storytelling and the quest for hidden truths.
So, “All Good People Here” – talk about a curveball! This one caught me completely off guard. The ending was like a plot twist from outer space, and I did not see it coming.
But let's get real. The journey to that jaw-dropping ending? Painfully slow. I mean, I had time to read several other books in between chapters. The writing could've used a bit more, or a lotta bit more oomph. The plot? It had its moments, but it felt like a long, drawn-out game of chess.
Yet, that ending! It's like the grand finale of a fireworks show. The sky is dark, you're thinking it's over, and then BAM! The sky explodes with color.
So, if you're willing to trek through a slower-paced tale for that grand finale that's worth the wait, give “All Good People Here” a shot. Just be sure to have a few other books on standby for those slower parts.
4.5 stars.
I very much enjoyed this book. I can see why some people did not vibe with the book, since it has an open ending.
The epilogue I found to be chilling. Even though I predicted the person who committed the murder, I still found this book to be engaging.
I wanted to like this book more than I did. I'm familiar with Wakarusa and all of the towns mentioned because I'm from Northern Indiana, but it left me with much to be desired.
Even in the moments that should have been exciting when major plot points were being revealed I found myself easily putting the book down. I didn't have any desire to continue reading. I only powered through because I wanted to know what happened.
I also really didn't like the ending.
Disappointed and bummed overall.
Very good book. I got through this one quite quickly. Took a number of turns that I wasn't expecting. Nice little “wrap-up” at the end (epilogue), to pull everything together.
