And then came Paulette

And then came Paulette

2014 • 256 pages

Ferdinand is alone now, all by himself on a big empty farm. His son, daughter and grandchildren have all moved away...But his solitude is short-lived. Ferdinand is soon joined by a multitude of lost souls. First his neighbour, Marceline, shows up after a terrible storm. Then his best friend Guy, a recent widower, moves in. Followed by the Lumiere sisters, who have lived together for more than seventy years. Thus a strange quintet is formed. When the needs of the eldest sister prove to be too much for them, the clan recruits Muriel, a nursing school student who will be given room and board in exchange for a few hours of work a week. Next is Kim, a budding farmer from the local agricultural college.
