Akari Mizunashi is training to become an undine - a gondolier in the city of Neo-Venezie on the watery planet of Aqua. Along the way, she witnesses some wondrous sights and she discovers exciting new things about herself and her city.

Akari is about to experience her first winter on Aqua with a new friend - a snow bug - and a trip to a hot springs. She also learns about Aqua's underground inhabitants and discovers the crucial role they play in maintaining the planet's gravity. And before she knows it, it's time for the Venetian New Year's festival, a celebration full of magic and sparkle!
