This book is neither feminist nor a retelling so I don't understand why it's labelled as such. It's just a telling, so the story is already known, and often a mix between classical myths and successive retellings (for instance it's hinted at the fact of Medusa being a girl transformed into a gorgon, which is just from Ovid- in older classical myths she's just a gorgon).
But old greek myths are not what I would define feminist so it's ok. I would define this more of an introspective fan fiction on Ariadne.
I wish the author focused more on Ariadne's feeling but instead her personality is just “I love my children”- I hoped to read more than motherhood.
Lastly, completely personal: I'm so used to Hades Game Dionysus that I can't imagine him as a blond twink 😭
