This was not my favorite in the series, but the romance payoff made It totally worth 4 stars!
Best.Toby Daye.Ever. Sure, that just means it's the best since the last one (which was the best since the one before...and so on). But still, wow. Really wow. This series has entered the terrain of Harry Dresden or Mercy Thompson–why bother writing a proper review? The reader knows it's going to be good, the only question is, how good is this entry–really good or just great?
Action, intrigue, splash of humor, character development, romance...this one has everything. We get more of some old friends we haven't seen in awhile, some characters who were in danger of over-use get scaled back...
couldn't ask for more from this one.
Toby is becoming more and more reckless. Ever since the Saltmist kidnappings, and everything she lost during that time, Toby is out of control. The worst part is, everyone can see it but her. Until Tybalt shows up again and many things become clear to her. She will have to pull herself together because she has another child to find.
When Luna, Rayseline, and Toby were missing, Etienne had to take on a lot more responsibility. When everything became too much for him, he had a secret relationship with a human. He just recently found out that he has a daughter and that she's missing. Chelsea can teleport like her father, but she is much more powerful. She is opening portals to places closed by Oberon himself. She must be found before she destroys Faerie.
These books keep getting better. I loved it!!
Really good, I like the October Daye series. Thank You Seanan McGuire.
Seanan McGuire strikes again! The story on this one was absolutely fascinating - ripping holes into Faerie! Uncontrolled teleporting! CAT POLITICS! I loved every second of it.
Plus I got the thing I have been hoping for since book one. So. Yay!
