Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for this arc.
This has to be my favorite of this series so far, I loved reading about characters from previous books. His uncles were so over the top, I was laughing out loud at work. I was surprised by who the villain was.
DNF'd at 63%. Sorry but I refuse to read this into Christmas. I deserve to be happy.
I wish I'd left my memory of this series untainted. Lesson to self- Trust that you stopped reading series for a reason, even if you can't remember the reason in the moment.
This book seems like more of the same. Eventually things start to blur together. What are the odds that you can have a fresh take on the same merry band of vampires, THIRTY FIVE BOOKS LATER? Apparently, super low.
Marguerite's still the one who knows first. Predictable.
The family (and employees) are still as meddlesome as ever. Also predictable.
Alasdair is as dull as dishwater. Sophie is.......not intriguing. I'm sorry. There was nothing to keep me hooked on this. Nostalgia can only go so far.
The humor also didn't quite hit. I used to find these so funny.
RIP my love for the Argeneau series. The evil you have done is enough.
