I really enjoyed Before We Were Strangers. The premise of a Craig's List missed connection wasn't something I had ever read about before. The two main characters were both likable for the majority of the story. Their story was sweet with a few heartbreaking twists. My only complaint is I wish their ending wasn't so rushed.

The writing style really cringed me out. It was so detached and barely highlighted characters emotions. I could not connect or relate to them, could not find anything in their story that made me emotional. It was tragic, yes, but i read the book as one would about the weather. Everyone who recommended this, had said it's an emotional rollercoaster ride and i waited until the very end to find the hint of it.
I don’t know if it was my period but man, I’m a crying mess. The last hundred pages touched my soul. I haven’t cried this much since Granny Dan. This is fucking beautiful. I hate how much I love this book.
I can’t stop crying.
Una historia nostálgica (in a beautiful way). Me hizo pensar en mi vida, mis relaciones, el tiempo, el futuro.
3.5 Rounded to 4
This is my first by this author and it just didn't meet the hype for me. I rounded to a 4 (for Goodreads) as I loved the premise of the story, and the writing was good. I had a problem with how long we stayed in their past, and how immature they were for 21yr olds. Grace was still immature 15 years later.
I also just can't see how they couldn't connect with each other as the excuses given were lazy ones (at least to me). I can't say anything because it will give away everything so all I can say is to read and judge for yourself.
