Definitely not the typical book I read, but definitely a very interesting and informing. Loved to see Bisexuality history in an entire book and learning lots about myself too. Not the kind of book you binge in a week, but would recommend to anyone who wants to know more LGBTQ+ history.
Thank you Netgalley and Publisher for ARC in exchange for an honest review
An enlightening account of the history of the bisexual label, what it means for individuals, how it came to be and it's influences from the animal kingdom and human history. I listened to the audiobook version, read by the author herself and highlight recommend if you're looking for a more scientific approach to bisexual history
3.5 Great primer for those who have recently come out or for allies. I think the concept of shifting your perspective to “bisexuality is the majority default” can be helpful and healing to a lot of people vs feeling like you are an outlier.
Would have really liked more reflection on the discrimination happening in western countries, particularly the USA. While it is touched on, I think there was room to go further especially in regard to BIPOC trans folx who are bisexual.
