In Scotland Mack tries to merge into the human world and connect with the world she was born into. But when new powers are unleashed she gains the attention of the Mages. She just wants to be left alone. While Mack is under lock and key shifters are growing ill and dying from red fever. Can Mack control her new found powers and save her adopted family? Or will the Mages see her as too dangerous to live?

I understood the need for this book. Its a plot builder. But I was a little irritated by Macks audited. Agin it was needed, character development and all. But it grew tiresome. I loved the reality check that the fae gave her.
