Once again I am awed by the world Tara Fuller has created.
Having only read one other Reaper book and using that experience as a comparison, I can honestly say that this is the best Reaper series I've read to date. I can speak about the author's growth (because there were leaps and bounds of growth), the incredibly solid characters and their story (they were that solid), the awesome pace that propelled you to the end and how the ambiance created along with the complexity of the story had you glued to your seat (seriously great storytelling). I can speak of those things and maybe I will but right now, right now, I want to speak about how thought provoking this read is.
There are really unique concepts introduced in this series that I've never thought about before. They challenge your beliefs or knowledge about life and the afterlife, good and evil, and the power of love. This book offers an opportunity for a great discussion. I don't know about you but I love to discuss the books I read just as much as I love getting lost in them.
Seriously, everyone should read this story. This was a solid read with a nice balance of paranormal, romance, heavy, light and sweet. It really felt complete. I would have liked the concepts of the Inbetween and the shadows to be explained a bit more for clarity but all in all the explanation given was enough for Cash and Anaya's story. YA needs more reads like this one.
An ARC was provided via the publisher for an honest review.
