Some of the things Sila does to Bay....... I could feel my crotch retreat all the way back and up into my chest cavity in fear. Nope. Nope. Nope.
***places dark romance on the ground and backs away slowly....
This was good but also more disturbing than I like. Though the twist was so good. At first I couldn't tell what Sila liked about Bay. And..... then Bay made a case for himself. These two are seriously so fucked up.
Also, this author has a unique gift of consistently choosing the worst character names. Sigh. Oh well.
I like this author and have liked both Rin and Sila's stories, but I've also made peace with the fact that dark romance is not the genre for me. I prefer my angst purely emotional.
I'll look out for their other romances that aren't dark. The trigger warnings on this caused enough anguish and that was BEFORE I even got to read the actual content necessitating them.
Yikes.
Between the two twins I liked reading Rin's story more. But Sila is so interesting because he's so unhinged and remorseless. Bay and Sila are perfect for each other but they are both incredibly toxic in different ways. Sila falling to the category of “if you even think about leaving me I'll physically harm you” and Bay being “if you ever leave me I'll harm myself”. Also, the small plot twist at the very end with Bay's confession made several parts of the earlier book not make sense. If he was planning certain things out the way he claimed during his confession then in his own thoughts earlier in the book he was lying. And why would he need to lie in his own thoughts?! Overall 4/5.
