If you like first-person accounts of spoiled white girls who try to kill themselves and end up in a mental hospital, this book is for you. In point of fact, I just so happen to like such books. The weird(est) thing about this one, though, is the interjections by the psychoanalyst that follow each chapter. It is strange and weirdly invasive to read his analysis of Laura's writing as she goes through her experiences and her emotions and her therapy sessions with another doctor. That said, the book is fascinating from a historical or feminism perspective.
