this was a fun little thriller but a lot of stuff happened off page and i wish we actually saw more. i feel like i could tell this was jennifer hillier's debut and there was a lot i loved but a lot that just felt meh
pros: riveting fast paced plot, in depth character development, twists i didn't see coming, dark/graphic/shocking content, interesting psychological elements
cons: a couple convenient plot points, a couple weird sentences about women that took me out of the story, ambiguous ending
I enjoyed this, but didn't love it. I found a lot of the “twists” to be predictable and easy to guess.
I loved this book. Jennifer Hillier is quickly becoming a favorite author for me! I can't wait to read Freak!
“Creep” by Jennifer Hillier knows how to crank up the intensity. It's like a rollercoaster ride that goes from zero to a hundred in the blink of an eye. But honestly, Jennifer, I wish you took it even a little further.
And then there's the ending – it hit me like a plot twist I never saw coming. I'll admit, I didn't even believe him when he said that to her. & the fact that he wasn't lying! But hey, that's the beauty of a well-crafted thriller, right?
If you're up for a pulse-pounding, page-turning experience with an ending that'll leave you wide-eyed, then “Creep” should be your next read. It's that book that'll have you texting your friends at 2 AM saying, “You won't believe what just happened!”
And guess what? There's a second book in the series. Let's see where this goes
Maybe it's because I accidentally read this “series” in reverse order, but this book just didn't do it for me. I trudged my way through it and just didn't find myself very invested. If I hadn't already know the outcome I think I probably would have enjoyed it more. So it's not really the books fault. It's mine
