This book was AMAZING!!
I had never heard of Ed McDonald until I saw Blackwing on Net Galley. It sounded pretty good, so I requested it. It ended up being one of my favorite books of all time. I love his writing style. The world he has created is fascinating. I can picture the Misery in my mind. I love the magic. I can picture the raven coming out of Rhyalt's arm. The writing makes everything seem so vivid in my imagination.
This series also has some of my most favorite characters. Ryhalt, Nenn, pretty much all of them.
I couldn't wait to read it. I also didn't want to read it because I knew it was the last book in the series. I had to find out what happened though, so I devoured it. I LOVED this book so much.
If you read fantasy, you have to read this series.
Ed tops off this series with a remarkable flair. By itself this book is so much more gritty, dark and desperate till the end. It moves you to each end of the spectrum and with remarkable ease. While the first two books plodded along in some parts, Crowfall suddenly ups the ante right from the first page with a simple time jump mechanic and it keeps building. Misery is the real heroine here and I guess Ed really did it justice in the end. Highly recommended series just due to this last episode
