Daisy Haites is smart, witty, loving, and blunt. She is bad ass. She has messy relationships and lots of miscommunication like Magnolia Parks.
You learn a lot more about The Haites and The Hemmes. My favorite points of views were Daisy's and Christians. You see lots of new people, and new characters.
I likes the ending where we got some more of Magnolia and cliffhanger ending.

i lovedddddd jessa's writing and especially this darker gang world that she has thrown us into in this one. i think overall i enjoyed the plot, characters, and the elements over this magnolia parks more but i wasn't as attatched to the romance in this one as i was in magnolia.

Spoiler-Free Review:
Oh my goodness... My heart, my soul, my brain, literally my entire body. Jessa Hastings has me in a choke hold with this series. It's so addictive, I literally can't stop. In this book, we get 3 POVs: Daisy, Christian (swoon), and Julian (Daisy's brother). I loved being inside their heads and the overlapping of some of the events of Magnolia Parks but from their POV. Daisy's story is so heartbreaking, but I love how she tries to rise above the deeds of her family. Julian is so damaged, and I don't know where he is heading in the next book or what we will see from him. Christian is probably my favorite of the men in this world. He (like the others) is also broken, but the way he loves is so sweet and so strong. All three of them are deliciously toxic. There is amazing banter and tension, and like in Magnolia Parks, there is a lot of sex but not explicit or on page. This is a new adult romance, 18+for sexual content, language, and themes. Thanks again, @Bookish.Teresa for peer pressuring me into reading this series... it's going to be a favorite.
The amount of footnotes that had nothing spicy/important/of substance is unbelievably high :/ don't do that again

Oh man I loved this even more than Magnolia. I just feel like there was more to get into plot wise and also Daisy is just more likeable than MP. Can't wait for the next one!
Liked it more than the first one, more action packed but with great angst. A little more healthy than Magnolia and BJ's relationship.

Lo unico que me interesaba era Julian el resto era meramente aburrido. Daisy se me hacia una hipocrita y Christian en el primero no me cai bien, ahora tampoco y en el futuro creo que no me caera mejor.
Give me back my F*ing heart please... I can't take it.. think I like them better than MP and BJB but really I love them love just finding myself so much more in Daisy..
Anyway.. my heart is out on the street like a dead strary cat.
rating - 5/5what is jessa hastings putting in these books????? asking for a friend— I'm genuinely so so so obsessed with these characters, the writing and everything and idek why T_T

okay so my first question is, how the fuck does daisy have so much time as a med student and my second question is, how much sex is too much sex?/ how many love interests are too many love interests? (if you're reading this without having read the book, highly unlikely but yeah, I hope that makes you want to read it heehee.)
Anyway, I went into this with zero expectations, wanting to skip to magnolia's book but ended up obsessed with daisy and wanting to skip magnolia2 and going straight to dh2 instead. As a pre-med student, Daisy's character stood out to me and felt easier to relate to, than magnolia's. The footnotes were a chore, like the outfit description character-trait in book 1, ngl. But it does make the book stand out as the author intended, so no complaints.
Overall, I absolutely loved this book although I might be screaming, crying, throwing up from that ending; I'm genuinely in love with this series and will read the rest of the books as soon as i can:)
Really enjoyed this book overall but the footnotes were so irritating and Daisy just needs to speak to people
