That was a waste of time. I was ready to stop this audiobook 60% in. I only finished listening to it, because I couldn't return it. During the first half of the book, I enjoyed it. The plot building was well done. I wanted answers to the mysteries. But the moment Cassandra trusted Gabriel with everything. I was done. The FMC didn't trust and had a lot of secrets. Gabriel was nothing more than her British contact. He didn't like her. So why the hell would she all of a sudden trust him? Especially when, at the time, she was still diagnosing it as her mental illness. Another issue I had was that the FMC was disgusted with the police chief, letting the tabloids point the finger at immigrants, the unknown, the different. But then she does the same thing. Yes, he saved her life over and over again. But he isn't human, and the criminal wasn't either. So, with that logic, she decided that he was the killer. Using the facts she knew to fit the answer she wanted. The sexual tension is there. The authors did well at building it. I would label this as, a hate-to-love romance, with hints at primal play, and some light stocking. This book had so much potential. But I guess C.N.
