I let this sit for a long time because I was expecting it to be difficult to read.
The sexism in the first book was even more of a problem in the second one.
The relationship between the male lead and the two young women he essentially adopts is sometime very creepy.

There is also the problem of his house servants calling him master all the time.

I thought the sperm whale uprising was interesting and the stuff about broadcast power and super computers was intriguing.
But that is most of the SF elements in the book and it's not worth reading the rest for it.
I think I'm only reading it because I read at least the first book back when I was about 14 and wouldn't have noticed the sexism as a problem .
So I'm curious what my reactions now are and a little curious about how the SF elements work out.
But I don't think you should search this out.
