Deadfall

I normally don't go for short stories. I find that they leave me wanting one too many times because not many authors can satisfy my bookly needs in 40 pages or so. As a new Patton fan, I'm finding this is not the case with her. This is a great short story. It has a beginning, middle and end...which that alone is amazing to me. You ger a sense of the main character. Who he is as a person. You even get a sense of the side characters. Nothing felt rushed or unexplained. In 40ish pages? That's a winner.
