Destined for Doon

UPS: After reading Doon (book 1), I couldn't wait to read Destined for Doon and hope that Kenna made the right decision and live happily ever after. I was pleased with this sequel, however not quite as much as I was with the first book. The description was amazing, and the actions made by the characters was completely believable. As always, I loved how Carey and Lorie wrote and verbally pronounced the princes' Scottish accents, it gave the book it's own little personality :-)

DOWNS: However, there was a whole lot more kissing and sexual comments in this book than the first because the book focused mainly on MaKenna (of whom is my least favorite character). Kenna just kind of speaks her mind, because the book is written in first person, so whatever she is thinking (about guys especially) gets put into the book. In addition to the sexual content, there is also some pretty descriptive action concerning the “zombie circle” that definitely needs to be taken into consideration when buying for younger audiences.

OVERALL: So, my overall judgement of the book is that though it was good, book 1 was better and Destined for Doon really was almost a let down because of all of the “downs”. Whereas I gave Doon 4 out of 5 stars, I only give Destined for Doon 3 out of 5 stars. Thank you all for reading :-)
