Divided loyalties

The story of Matthias, a German soldier, and Ellen, an English nurse, who met and married after World War I and brought up their children in England under the shadow of prejudice and hatred - This has impacted severely on the relationship with their son Walter who hates his father - When war breaks out again it threatens to tear the family apart completely.
