The longer these four are together, the faster they fall into a terrifying type of love.
Will the demons take the wings from their caged dove, or will they set her free before their world devours her?
Doves & Demons is the first book in the Freaks of Nature Duet and will be a complete story for the characters. This is a very spicy and dark Why Choose steampunk Monster romance.

3.5 rounded up. I enjoy the writing style of the author and this book started strong but the pacing felt off, unrealistic. Not sure if this was originally intended as a one off, since this story has a full conclusion and could easily end at book 1, their relationships, falling in love, etc. felt so rushed.
SPOILERS
This rushed feeling I felt because, realistically, if there was even the slightest idea that they killed a beloved family member there would be WAY more resistance. And there would be hella conflicting feelings post confirmation of the fact.
On that note, if this is related to the dove I wish there was some semblance of a hint in book 1 of this. There is an unnatural draw between them which is what seemingly makes Irene go against her instinct and why the monsters want her. But it's never explained where this comes from. I think this personally made the pacing feel off for me, rushed and unrealistic.
