Duty and Desire

I enjoy Pamela Aidan's novels depicting Pride and Prejudice from Mr. Darcy's perspective. This middle one, while an intriguing story on its own, is quite far-fetched, though. It creates an entirely new story for Mr. Darcy during the time he isn't present in P&P and seems quite un-Austen.

Second in Pamela Aidan's series of “Pride and Prejudice” told from Darcy's point of view. It took me awhile to get into it, but the mystery and intrigue of Sayre's castle is what sucked me in! Great read and I can't wait to start the third!
