The first in a new series, Earthbound, makes for a fun, entertaining and thrilling read. This one had me feeling Supernatural (TV Show) vibes from the very beginning and I LOVE that. One of my all-time favorite shows from when I actually watched TV. Plus I'm always down for a good vs. evil premise. Earthbound has this but also on a greater scale as it's not just the human world in this battle, but also the spiritual.
At times, I felt it was too wordy and could be repetitive. We get great descriptions about the mystery, drugs and crime as its being investigated and I enjoyed that the first time its introduced. However, everytime a new player was brought on, instead of briefly stating the facts as known to that point, they would get explained again, in full. This took some of the love down for me.
The highlight for me though is John and Jennifer. I absolutely love their dynamic and interactions with each other. Nikki is also a fun character and I really enjoyed the twist she adds to the overall story.
Supernatural Thrillers are always a fun read for me, and this one was no different. It starts off pretty quickly and flows well for the most part, but could lag in others.
Overall though this was a very interesting and entertaining read. I already picked up the prequel and will be reading the next book in this series when its released. I think this would be a good one for readers who love a good mix of supernatural, crime fiction and thrillers. Would also be a good one Spooktober.
