While the EMP apocalypse was merely a backdrop for the over all story; Hannah's effort to escape her captivity and return to her family was the thrilling and kept me interested through the whole book.
Review for whole series - 3 stars.
This is a dystopian story with a twist. Our MC was kidnapped and held by a psycho until an EMP killed the power grid and unlocked her underground prison's doors. Hilarity ensues (okay, not so funny – the psycho is particularly twisted). The MC escapes and conveniently knows a lot about how to survive in sub-zero weather. I was able to look past that, but the story fell apart after the first two books, especially the unnecessary love triangle and Noah's complete personality 180. The story became less and less fathomable, and in turn less enjoyable. I powered through to the end, but the story did not satisfy. Ultimately a good effort by the author, but just TOO much going on in the story.
