Elemental Thief

Being a huge fan, probably one of the biggest ones, of Rachel‘s Creepy Hollow series, I went into this series with high hopes and oh boy, I was NOT disappointed! Her characters are usually strong, self-confident and awesome who want to make their world a better a place. This book isn't an exception but while her other fantasy series felt kind of dreamy and had lots of magic in it, including magical creatures, this one has a more mature and realistic feel to it as it is set in a post-apocalyptic world where a magical incident happened which lead to magic being forbidden. I really loved the blend of bits of dystopian and magic in this book- it's a mix I've never read before but it works together so well!

Whenever I read a book by Rachel Morgan I know three things are gonna happen because she's excellent at it: I get to experience a unique magic system, a gripping story in which a romantic relationship isn't present and a painful cliffhanger at the end which makes me want to stare at the book‘s last page hoping for more words to magically appear.
Furthermore, this author always manages to surprise you when you think you've figured everything out, but you never know what is still about to come!

To sum up, I absolutely loved this book because I enjoyed reading every page and obviously I'm eagerly waiting for book two!
