What a pleasant surprise! It was short but it sure did leave an impression.
Decided to quickly read some short audios while I'm on a good reading binge and WOW THIS WAS SO GOOD!!!
This is on the audible plus catalogue and all I can say is PICK IT UP. The end gave me goosebumps.
I love how this started almost like a romantic comedy, then became sinister. Also, it really used the fact that it is an audiobook to its advantage - more audiobooks should be like this. I don't think reading this on paper would have done the story justice.
Fun short story to listen to in one sitting. I enjoyed the insights into Indian culture and some of the family dynamics. I would say this book is 3/4s family drama and then 1/4 thriller when it gets toward the end of the story.
A 4.5. What started out as a dramedy around single Indian girl in America and her Mom in India slowly became.more sinister and chilling. Told entirely as phone conversations between two people, this audio book was thrilling and entertaining from start to finish. Good message at the end too.
